It’s been a funny day. I’m not sure what to think. As I wrote recently, I regard myself as a Londoner and a European. This morning it felt as if a part of my identity was removed from me.
Things will work out. They always do. But it doesn’t feel to be a world that feels inclusive. That feels supportive. That feels particularly nice.
It should be time to build bridges, but it seems we are now at the behest of people who want to build walls. When I heard Farage talking about independence days and no shots being fired I didn’t know whether to scream, laugh or cry.
Things will work out. They always do. But they will incredibly uncertain for the foreseeable future. Which might come as a shock to those who thought they were voting for absolute answers.
