This week I have learned:

  • it was a wonderful experience to be able to talk about something important on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme this week. I wrote a piece about the value of jury service after serving last month. Someone shared it with someone on the production team. And to coincide with government announcements on Tuesday, I found myself on the phone to Evan Davis (who seems to be a lovely chap).
  • for the last few years, the WB-40 community has got together for a pre-Christmas get-together. This year’s was on Wednesday, and it was wonderful to see everyone. Chris and I didn’t envisage such things when we set the show up 9 years ago.
  • it’s always the people, isn’t it? Always. Technology doesn’t fail because of technology alone. Technology is just a manifestation of the people and structures and culture (so much more than what Conway proposed).
  • one of these days someone will be able to explain to me what Cloudflare do other than “regularly break the internet”.
