The power of mobile phones

Realisation today as to the the sheer processing power of modern mobile phones (or “Multimedia Computers”, as the manufacturer would have us say) – my mobile is now a web server.
Not sure of the implications of this specifically (other than even worse battery life).
However, it does give a key indication to me of the need to manage mobile phones in a corporate environment in the way in which PCs are managed – ie reducing variation of devices, standardised (and preferably locked-down) builds, anti virus protection, and so on.
The device-centric marketing of the major mobile manufacturers (iPhones, BlackBerry Bolds, G-Phones, Nokia's erm, well, you get the idea) is a major barrier to this. It's difficult to compete against their big spending…
However, unlike PCs, it is so much easier to demonstrate the long term operation costs of a mobile, as it arrives neatly printed to every user once a month with a Bank Giro slip attached at the bottom…
