Things I have learned this week:

  • I’m incredibly privileged to have the group of friends that I do.
  • Still no news on the publication date
  • I’m ready for London Book Fair the week after next, though!
  • Doing lots of one-to-one meetings with a big team is proving hugely fruitful, but also very draining. Trying to not repeat oneself when many of the messages are similar is really quite hard work.
  • A lot about Allyship thanks to a wonderful workshop run at work.
  • After many years of relying on Zoom/Teams/Meet, it’s easy to forget that office space is a finite resource.
  • Storytelling can be fun.
  • My LLM coding is getting more and more complicated. I might soon start breaking things, and not in a good way.
  • There’s a big difference between being a service provider and a partner. Neither is right nor wrong – it’s all about context. But if you are geared for one when expected to do the other, strange things happen.

The week in media:

Listened

Another Discover Weekly kind of week. I have a few new vinyl targets in sight, though.

Read

Finished Jonathan Coe’s Bournville, which is a lovely book. Now starting Francis Spufford’s Red Plenty.
