This week I have learned:

  • You’ve got to be in it to win it. If you don’t ask you don’t get. And similar sayings.
  • I don’t think I’m ever going to get truly comfortable with talking about my strengths. But I have reached a point where I’m able to acknowledge them and highlight them. That’s taken a fair bit of work.
  • I’ve launched into a big meeting and greeting exercise. Leading and managing really does need lots of conversation. Often without an agenda, and away from talking about tasks at hand. This stuff gets squeezed in contemporary work life.
  • Once again I’ve found myself looking at Porter’s Five Forces. It’s a useful framework to help thinking about a market. It’s also useful to think about how generative tools might impact your business.
