This week I have learned:
- sometimes consulting feels a bit like being part of a David Attenborough production, watching things in their natural habitats.
- I’m increasingly of the view that talking about software products distracts from the bigger message of the move from a project-based approach to software delivery: namely, that a piece of software is never finished.
- acquiring a new printer this week also felt like buying into a lifelong commitment.
- the steep part of an exponential curve can be very disorienting.
- trying out some new ways of creating book summaries in LLMs by asking for “user guides” targeted at particular personae – it gives some really interesting results.
- I fear I have a computer rebuild in my near future…
The week in media:
Watched:
The series Bodies – more SciFi than I usually do, but an enjoyable yarn.
The Wrecking Crew which appeared to be an extended fight interspersed with occasional dialogue.
Listened:
I have become a bit besotted with the podcast One Song.
Read:
Started Bournville by Jonathan Coe. Very enjoyable so far.
