This week I have learned:
- how much of my cognitive capacity went into preparing and delivering a pitch presentation this week. That’s not a moan, it’s just a reflection on how much brain power and emotional energy goes into bringing together a team and a script to delivery something compelling to clients.
- that for all of the world being totally over-surveyed and NPSed to death, in three years I’ve never received a survey asking for feedback on procurement processes from the perspective of a potential supplier. It’s a glaring omission because so many of the processes are labyrinthine.
- there are some people in the world that make me simply feel better about the world in general. My friend Geraldine is one of those people. We had lunch. It was delightful.
- We are now at the “awaiting contracts for review” stage of the publishing process. Hopefully announcements can be made next week.
- I created a paper prototype of a set of the Random content, and I’m more excited than ever about the project. I also showed it to someone whose views I trust (and would also be sure to tell me if it was awful). Her jaw literally dropped.
- if I can find ways to help people out, I generally try to. That’s where I get my sense of purpose.
- about the concept of scenius, which I find inherently pleasing.
- this week’s WB-40 has got me thinking that maybe LLMs are a bit closer to how we think, but not in the way in which the tech bros imagine. Basically winging it on the basis of prejudice.
