This week I have learned:

  • about leadership. I adore the conversations on WB-40. This week’s, with my dear friend Nancy Doyle, has been hugely impactful on my thinking. She’s a clever one, that Professor Doyle.
  • how LLMs can be used to help design games. I’m currently working on a board game that simulates the stuff that goes on around a consulting engagement. To create content for such things, the LLMs are really useful.
  • however, ChatGPT is becoming like an over-enthusiastic teacher pleaser, offering to do all sorts of things that are simply beyond the platforms capabilities.
  • I’ve also been finding using LLM tools (particularly NotebookLM) useful in unpacking information. If you work on the principle of defining frameworks in which you query, the responses can be really useful in qualitative analysis.
  • I do still see a need for human data jazz, though.
  • family life when teenagers are involved can be pretty full on.

The week in Media:

Watched

A two-season thing on Netflix from a few years ago Homecoming, with Julia Roberts in the first season and Janelle Monae in the second. Cleverly done. I’ve also now got into the new Race Across the World.

Listened

The augmented playing of Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden on Guy Garvey’s 6 Music show. I adore that album.

Read

I’m not really reading that much at the moment.

Next week:

Another four-dayer.
