This week I have learned:

  • I felt a bit sad deciding to close the #100Coffees project. However, it continues—as Lisa Riemers suggested, it’s now “live.”
  • Apparently, studies in the US have shown that people are reticent to tie themselves to performance targets that are actually within their control. This is fascinating and could explain some of the weirder scorecard stuff that I saw going on at Microsoft when I was there.
  • Things can suddenly appear seemingly out of nowhere. It’s not really “nowhere.” It’s a whole series of events.
  • Sometimes, writing stuff down can really help. Whilst I do that lots I almost always publish it. Maybe I need a private diary, too.
  • Pitch presentations are a funny thing. Another one out of the way today. It seemed positive in the moment, but then you get wracked with doubt afterwards.
  • Once again everyone needs reminding – it’s not a syndrome. Feeling like an imposter is perfectly normal and goes to show one is not a psychopath.
  • Downsides of cycling to and from work: bugs. I don’t need that much protein.
  • It’s always the people. Always.

Next week: further expansion, and a decision awaits.
