This week I have learned:
- I’ve implemented a new AI tool that will personalise these weeknotes to your tastes based on a complex algorithm and data analysis of your previous reading interests. I hope you enjoy the new experience!
- convincing people that they need something they don’t know exists is an interesting challenge.
- It turns out I know the sister of the real-life star of the “Pinball” film on Prime. It’s a lovely little film, and I had a wonderful chat with Roger’s sister over coffee.
- I’m a “smooth coordinator”.
- I’m also “a discovery person. Not of land masses, but of people.”
- The new podcast project is GO! Expect more news soon.
- One gets lulled into a false sense of security. When one lands, ambiguity hits—and that’s the job.
- occasionally, you get these weird signals from the past that percolate through. Maybe that happens more as you get older. They can sometimes be touching, and sometimes they destabilise.
- It’s always nice to get an acknowledgement in someone’s book.
- If you ask me “How are you?” I’ll answer you with how I am. Just as a word of warning.
- turns out that all you need to do is make people think that they are consuming a personalised experience and they’ll perceive it to be personalised. Apophenia, innit?
