This week I have learned:

  • the satisfaction and relief when you get a client from “prospect” to signed up and in contract. Mostly it’s the relief from worrying if it’ll all get pulled at the last minute for some reason.
  • how nice it is to catch up with long-lost colleagues. Fraser, it was a delight to see you and I’ll get something else in the diary very soon.
  • how these debates about in-person or on-site or “IRL” are going to run and run until a new generation has smoothed out the old ways.
  • what nice feedback my new podcast experiment is getting. It’s all down to the quality of the guests.
  • sometimes you can just tell things have gotten out of hand but no-one can step back and say “Lads, we’ve messed up here. Can we start again?”
  • the Art of the Brick thing is quite fun, but it’s a great illustration of when money takes over art.

The week ahead: preparing to start
