This week I have learned:
- After a week on the road, a week spent exclusively at home feels odd. But there’s been lots of head-down writing work to do, which is really hard in an open-plan office. I’m too easily distracted.
- That’s odd, isn’t it? And so counter to the untrusting stereotype of RTO calls, which state that the workforce can’t be trusted to work from home because of all the distractions. Offices are really distracting places!
- I’m proposal-writing again. But this time, things are less prescriptive and feel like a good match. I’m enjoying the freedom of not being constrained by daft word counts. But that’s not to say we will be writing loads of words for the sake of it.
- Some people appear to get triggered by the appearance of m- and n-dashes.
- Monday’s podcast was one of those interviews I’d been looking forward to for ages because it had been in the diary for months. It didn’t disappoint.
- I keep getting signals that the civil service might be on the brink of a serious collapse. I feel for all those I know who work in public services.
