This week I have learned:
- that the Royal Geological Society in London has one of the most “No, we are closed, go away” front doors in London. They are, though, open and the library inside the building is a joy to behold.
- the importance of spending time in inspirational locations. The RGS followed by the RA was a delightful start to Tuesday. Thank you, Dan M.
- that people buy with a deadline. 30% of my Meerkat card sales came in the last 24 hours.
- that I might have a multi-channel strategy for card selling. Both Agile Stationery and Deckible went live this week.
- the “Leadership is the art of doing things worth following” resonates.
- digging into organisations and situations to understand needs is where I think I do OK.
- that a bike tyre can be deflated if it’s kicked hard enough. Teenagers, eh?
- that Apophenia is definitely my word of the moment. Thank you, Otto English.
- finding ways to invite conversations, rather than just proving your smarts, is the key to finding new business relationships. As ever, it’s a long game.
- I love the performance of a keynote. Love, love, love.
Next week: back to Manchester for a bit
