This week I have learned…
- you can make a bunch of assumptions about the environment in which you will present these days. Still, you’ll probably underestimate how overly complicated meetings in a hybrid world will be. You can’t guarantee anything, no matter what.
- there’s nothing quite like being able to proffer a point of view that’s been solicited, and it being taken both seriously and valued.
- putting stuff out there is nerve-wracking and puts one’s ego on the line. The Meerkat Cards, the TBD presentation, the next set of cards (already under development)… It would be much easier to do what I do with music and keep it all private.
- we’ve got a medium-sized get-together next week with all my peers in the London office. I’m thoroughly looking forward to simply hanging out.
- it was New Phone week. The Pixel 8 Pro has a much better camera than the 6 Pro.
- I inadvertently turned “Talk out loud about everything that’s on-screen” mode early this morning, waking Mrs B in the process. I’m convinced that accessibility modes have been designed to support those with accessibility needs and to make those of us who don’t currently have accessibility needs know what it feels like to be excluded. Turning the features off can be a tortuous exercise.
- we’ve got a crack in our car windscreen. Windscreens are extremely complicated and expensive things these days, it appears…
Next week: get together
