This week I have learned…
OMG. For the first time in an age, I didn’t get to do a weeknote last week. It was busy, what can I say?Turns out I just forgot to press “Publish”…- The busyness is mostly due to several client proposals being in flight concurrently. I love shaping new work through conversations with people to work out fit and the ability to help. I really struggle with procurement processes that seem to be designed to rule out any human interaction in the name of “fair competition”. It is as if procurement processes stop bad actors from being bad… (checks news headlines about bra manufacturers).
- In between the proposal busyness, there have been few more tweaks to the Meerkat Cards, with some box experiments. I think I now know what the packaging will look like.
- WB-40 reached the end of an era this week. Chris and I have been presenting the show for getting on for eight years becoming increasingly Statler and Waldorfesque as we get older. As of next week I’m delighted that we will be introducing a new roster of co-hosts who will bring new ideas, perspectives and voices onto the show. It’s exciting times!
- I treasure my generalism and curiosity. I’m never quite sure whether people get it, though.
Next week: more proposals
