This week I have learned…

  • Keynote Karaoke was a success.
  • I love a bit of serendipity. I caught up with Joel this morning. He mentioned whether I had come across Gabby and the Soil Tarot card deck she was building. Later this afternoon who was giving a show and tell at this month’s Cardstock. Gabby, no less.

You should check out her Kickstarter. It is beautiful.
  • I’ve an idea for a new Tarot set of cards (I know nothing about Tarot, but there’s something fascinating about the mechanics behind it). I’m digging into Startup Tarot.
  • I’ve also got an idea for a new training intervention – Card Practice for Facilitation. More on that soon.
  • Outside of the world of cards, the planning for the big event that I’m designing but not hosting continues. It will all be great.
  • I’ve also been thinking about technology consulting skills and “the cone of uncertainty”.
  • I tried out the Amazon Fresh shop in Richmond this week, where you just walk out (no checkouts). It’s very clever, but feels like demonstration technology. It’s also mega-surveillance, and all I could think of was the data they are gathering about in store behaviours.
  • Going to a wedding this weekend. There was a phase in my early to mid 30s when that was a monthly occurrence. It’s a total novelty these days until we start getting invites to the weddings of friends’ children…

Next week: remote
