If you read these pages with any frequency, you’ll probably be aware that I have two toddler boys. For the past few months they’ve had a few toy obsessions mostly revolving around emergency vehicles, firemen and postmen (well, one in particular, who’s called Pat). It’s got me wondering – and also a little worried – about how the heck I’ll answer the question “what do you do daddy?”
I’m not sure that Fisher Price Project Manager, Lego IT Department or the Playmobil Marketing Team would quite have the draw that toys with big mechanical stuff seem to have with my kids. I guess because it’s mostly cerebral work that I’ve been involved in that I find it difficult to see how any of the jobs I’ve done could become compelling “playthings plus accessories”…
